Planning your wedding. One of the most important days of your life should be fun, right? It definitely shouldn't be stressful but with SO many details, it can at times feel overwhelming. That's where this series we're working on comes in. We know that most couples hire us to photograph their wedding but we so enjoy helping in other areas of the journey as well. Let's face it, you have a lot of (usually well meaning) family and friends giving you advice and sometimes it's hard to tell what's useful and what's not.

So today we're beginning a new blog series that will highlight professionals in the wedding industry where they'll share their favorite tips and advice in their area of expertise. I mean what's better than hearing it directly from a professional? We hope it's a great resource for you to help get back to enjoying planning your wedding and navigate the waters of information that's out there :)

We're kicking off this new series with one of our favorite bridal makeup artists in St Louis, Lisa Lipsitz, Owner of Looks by Lisa. As an award winning makeup artist with over 20 years of experience, she's more than qualified to share what she's learned over the years. As you can imagine, makeup plays a huge role in how you beautiful you feel on wedding day. Here's Lisa's advice on looking and feeling your best!

"Having your makeup done professionally for your Wedding is an essential part of the day.

It should be a fun, relaxing experience done by someone you trust and have a rapport with.At Looks By Lisa we always recommend having a trial first. The trial takes about an hour and is a great time to discuss what you like, what you do not like and also see how the makeup will look, feel and last for your beautiful day!

Airbrush makeup is really the way to go for a natural long lasting makeup that is sweat proof, waterproof and cry proof.

It is important not to try anything drastic right before the wedding, like a dark spray tan, huge hair color or style change or even getting facials or changing your skincare and makeup products.

Remember the photos will last a lifetime so you want to have your natural beauty shine through and look you most amazing self!"
